In the 1940's and 1950's, Kittanning's movie theaters (we called them "shows") were visited by many popular movie cowboys of the time. Smiley Burnett was just one of many that included Hopalong Cassidy, Roy Rogers, The Lone Ranger, Gabby Hayes, Lash LaRue, Whip Wilson, and many others. They spoke after the matinee presentations.
