Kay writes:  Here's info on Danny's boat trip - May 23, 2006.

They left the Captain Dick's at 6:00 AM - it took 2 1/2 hours to go 60 miles to the Gulf Stream.  There were 5 guys and they got 20 dolphin - Danny caught the biggest one - 50".  They didn't have a scale but they estimated it to be about 20 lbs.  The dolphin ranged from 25" to 50".

Danny caught 2 tuna - one black fin, one yellow fin.  The yellow fin was about 30 lbs. and gave him a good fight.

The total for the boat was 20 dolphin, 1 king mackerel, 2 bonito, 1 black fin tuna and one yellow fin tuna.

When they got into dock about 5:00 PM, there was a camera crew filming a commercial for Captain Dick's..........The boat Danny was on - the Instigator - arrived with the most fish.  There were four boats out yesterday from Captain Dick's.  The commercial will be running locally.  They had everyone hold up their catch - filmed Danny holding up the big dolphin.

The crew filleted everything - we have enough fish in the freezer to last a couple months - eating fish a couple days a week!

Holy Mackerel, it's a cavalla! Actually it is a mackerel, specifically a King Mackerel (Latin: Scomber cavalla), also called a Kingfish or a Cavalla, and it was caught recently off the coast of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina by Dan Gariglio, husband of classmate Kay Krozely Gariglio. This picture was included on the website of the Seacoast Anglers Association. In response to a few questions, Kay writes, "That was a king mackerel ... didn't win a contest ... just a day fishing with some club members. Sure was good on the grill.".

In a season of horrific hurricanes, Dan Gariglio, husband of Kay Krozely Gariglio, stands on the beach of Myrtle Beach, SC waiting for Hurricane Ophelia to make landfall. Dan and Kay have a home in Myrtle Beach.

Unlike Hurricane Katrina, which made a head-on charge at the Gulf Coast at the end of August 2005, Ophelia had slowly meandered since forming off the Florida coast in the middle of September.

Here's what Danny caught today (12/14/2005) and we're eatin' tomorrow.........fishin' at Pawley's Island -- Kay  ►

Here's a parasailing photo of Kay and a friend.  Kay is on the right either waving hello or begging for help!
