Our own "Granny Snow Bird," Mady Long Iseman, says you become a second person when you become a clown......officially since January 2001, but we all know Mady was destined to be a clown from Day One. Mady is a Hospice Clown. She visits Hospice
houses and nursing homes; does parades, health fairs, children's benefits and patient's birthday parties just to name a few. She is busy at least twice a month.
Mady attended Mooseburger Camp for Clowns in Minnesota and Caring Clowns at the University of Wisconsin. She related that Frosty Little is the last living Master Clown from Ringling and at 70 plus, had the best stories about the circus and was a hard task master on her class.
The class performs before an audience in a one week time frame. That means for some of the class to learn face, pick a costume and learn about balloons, magic etc........in one week. Classes are from 7 AM to 10 or 11 PM. Mady says "You just don't miss a chance because you want to learn it all".
Granny Snow Bird specializes in balloon sculptures.
However, the clown career is not the only career which Mady does in her "spare time". She also teaches pet massage.
